A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

Suffering from a fracture can dramatically change your day-to-day life. Osteoporotic fractures can cause an independent, active individual to become stationary, cautious, or fully reliant on others. After a fracture, everyday tasks that were once taken for granted may be rendered impossible as your mobility decreases.

Just think about it: can you prepare a meal without using your wrist to open a jar? Or get through the day without using your legs and hip to get around? After a fracture, simple tasks such as going to the grocery store or climbing a flight of stairs may become more difficult or altogether impossible.

Take Mary. Mary enjoys an active lifestyle – walking outside, cooking, making crafts. But when she suffers an osteoporotic fracture, all that changes.

If you think you may be at risk for an osteoporotic fracture, or are worried about the ways your life could change after a break, talk to your doctor about how you can reduce your risk.

Download this printable risk assessment tool to complete and take with you to your doctor.
